Story

Bringing this true family to the world is a heartfelt joy. Every Christmas morning Poppa yelled "Don't go Santa!" and we'd rush down the stairs to see him waving goodbye to reindeer who had flown away. We can all take the best of the past to create our legacy to the world as our family.

Lyrics

For a minute I’m catchin’ a sound from the kitchen that tells me Mom is here and the sound of Poppa waking us up every year. He’d say; “Don’t go, Santa! Go get Nana! Hurry up, kids; down the stairs!” We’d never question ‘cause without exception, the truth was always there. PRESENTS AND POPPA SAYIN’ GOODBYE TO REINDEER Now most of the time, I say, “I’m fine. I don’t have time for tears. I’m all grown up. Childhood is over. That’s clear.” I try to be strong; knowing all along, I’m full of nameless fears. So I fall to me knees and cry out “Please take me there! To PRESENTS AND POPPA SAYIN’ GOODBYE TO REINDEER Then out of the pain I rise again; tears of joy unrestrained and a song rises up from a well long ago drained. There’s singing and laughter and nothing else matters. We’re safe without a care and once again, my heart hears the wrapping paper tear and PRESENTS AND POPPA SAYIN’ GOODBYE TO REINDEER No, we can’t go back but we can take the best of the past and make a strong future for our children, and their children, and the world as our brother, sister, mother and father. There’s singing and laughter and nothing else matter’s. We’re safe without a care. Once again, our heart hears the wrapping paper tear. PRESENTS AND POPPA SAYING GOODBYE TO REINDEER
